Okotoks BMX Club is a 100% volunteer run organization that promotes an active and healthy lifestyle through BMX racing. Our club welcomes riders of all ages, from 4 to 94 years old, who are interested in learning and competing in BMX races. Our mission is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for riders to develop their skills, make friends, and have fun!

Thank you for joining the Okotoks BMX Family!

For all new and returning Okotoks BMX members, registration opens on January 15th, 2024. Cost per rider for the season is $150. All riders must obtain a 2024 Alberta Bicycle License to ride on our track, which is available online through the Alberta Bicycle Association. Steps on how to obtain club membership and order a license online are detailed below.

Riders must have both an UCI license from the Alberta Bicycle Association and a current Okotoks BMX Club Membership to participate in any club events. CLICK HERE for more information on the UCI Licence.

Obtain Your UCI License:

Go to 2024 Alberta Bicycle Association Registration in Zone 4

What to fill out to get your license:

Section 1: Rider Information
Section 2: Club Information
- Club Status: 'I have joined an ABA sanctioned club'
- Club/Team: Okotoks BMX
Section 3: License Information:
- "General Non-Racing Membership" or "UCI Youth BMX license (2006-2018)" or "UCI Adult BMX license" depending on age
Section 4: Discipline Selection: BMX
Racing Categories Section: "BMX" or "BMX Cruiser" depending on category
A license is valid from January to December of the year you purchased it
A current license is required before participating in Okotoks BMX

Get Your Club Membership:

Complete the Okotoks BMX Club Registration. Okotoks BMX membership is $150 per rider. Your membership includes coaching, district races, scheduled open track and race team participation if you choose. CLICK HERE to register.

Families With Multiple Riders
Any family with 3 or more riders will receive a discount on the club membership fees. The first 2 riders are $150 and every rider thereafter will be $125.

Riders Racing More Than 1 Class
The same membership fee applies to any rider racing both 20″ and Cruiser.

Volunteer Deposit

A $400 volunteer deposit via post dated cheque, cash or promise to pay credit card form will be required in order for paperwork to be processed. If families complete their volunteer requirements for the season, their deposit will be returned at the end of the season. Please see the volunteer requirements HERE.

Recreation Fee Assistance

Okotoks BMX is proudly partnered with KidSport so all kids can play. For more information please visit Kidsport Okotoks.

Bike and Equipment Loaner Program

We believe that, no kid should be watching from the sideline, so last season with the help of Kidsport and the government of Alberta, we were able to provide an equipment loaner program. If there is a financial barrier, and you do not have access to a bike or other equipment please email president@okotoksbmx.com for further information or to request an application for the program

Get Your Gear:

• A Bike – BMX bike properly sized for the rider.
• Rear Brakes – coaster or backward pedal brakes are not allowed.
• Full Face Helmet – DOT approved is recommended but not necessary.
• Jersey or Long Sleeve Shirt – the sleeves must reach to the wrist.
• Riding Pants – motocross or kevlar riding pants are mandatory.
• Gloves – full finger.
• Shoes – no boots or sandals, and laces must be tucked in.
