President
LESLIE MACRAE
Hi! My name is Leslie and I have been with Okotoks BMX since 2021. I have been on the Board of Directors since 2022, and this is my first year as President!
We joined BMX because my son was born to ride a bike - and wanted to ride "the big track" since he was 4. Five years later, my son, daughter and I all ride - it has definitely become a family sport! We love the community, camaraderie and fun that BMX brings, and the amazing friends we have made not only in Okotoks but around the province.
I truly believe that the sport of BMX and the amazing Okotoks BMX community finds those who need it. We welcome anyone who is looking to try something new, have fun, and make new friends! I'm really looking forward to the 2026 season and all the great opportunities that it will bring to our club and the community.

Vice-President & Coach
PHIL MAKIN
I’m Phil Makin, Vice President for the Okotoks BMX Club. This is my 3rd year with the club and second year as a member of the board of directors. We moved to Okotoks less than 3 years ago, and joining the club was an amazing way for my 2 boys to make friends, join a fantastic team, and feel integrated into the community. I'm excited to watch the membership improve and compete, gain confidence, and build friendships. I want to help create great events for all levels of rider and welcome new families to the club in the same way we were welcomed.

Coaching Coordinator
ROBIN OWEN
Hi, I'm Robin! As Coaching Director, I help shape the club’s training programs and support our amazing coaches and riders. I come from a motocross background, and I love seeing how many of the same coaching principles translate to BMX — focus, confidence, and flow. What I enjoy most is helping riders progress and watching their excitement as their skills and self-belief grow.

Track Operator
HALEY SKOF-WILLIAMS
Hi, I’m Haley! This is my 1st year on the board, 2nd with Okotoks BMX and 3rd year racing. The thing I’m most looking forward to this year is watching my ‘strider queen’ tackle the big track.
I’m also excited to continue to learn more about BMX behind the scenes. We have tried a lot of sports, clubs and activities over the years, but we have never felt more at home than when we joined Okotoks BMX.

After a few years away from BMX Coaching and Racing, we are excited to have Chris back with the club. Not only are his personal experience and skills a huge asset, Chris has also been the previous head coach of Okotoks, Lead a performance race team, been instrumental and mentoring, growing, and having positive influence on previous athletes such as (Bella, Dylan, and Luc who are now coaching with us.)
Ultimately we are excited to have Chris and positive energy back on the Coaching roster for 2026.

I am passionate about working with everyone from grassroots beginners tackling their first start hill to elite athletes on the national pathway. My goal is to merge my clinical knowledge with my trackside experience to help riders build the physical resilience and mental confidence they need to become Canada’s future BMX stars.
